II. Alloy seamless steel pipe classification:

i. Classification by material

Low alloy seamless steel pipe: high strength, good weldability and workability, used in construction, machinery.
Medium alloy seamless steel pipe: good strength and high temperature performance, used in boiler, chemical industry.
High alloy seamless steel pipe: excellent strength and corrosion resistance at high temperature, used in aerospace and nuclear industry.

ii. Classification by use

For fluid transportation: to transport water, oil, gas and other fluids, such as petroleum, chemical pipelines.
For mechanical structure: used for automobile, ship, bridge and other structural parts.
For pressure vessels: used in boilers and pressure vessels, requiring high strength, toughness and weldability.
For oil cracking: resistant to high temperature, high pressure and corrosion, used in oil cracking device.
For ships: seawater corrosion resistant, used in ship structures and equipment.
For geological drilling: high strength and wear resistance, used in geological exploration and drilling.
For automobile half shafts: good strength and toughness, used in automobile half shafts.

iii. Classification by production process

Hot rolled (extruded) tube: high production efficiency, low cost, dimensional accuracy and surface is slightly poor.
Cold-drawn (rolled) tube: high dimensional accuracy, good surface, high cost, for small diameter, high precision tube.

iv. Classification by surface treatment

Bare tube: smooth surface, no special treatment, widely used.
Galvanized tube: corrosion-resistant, used in construction, chemical industry.
Copper-plated tube: decorative, used for musical instruments and handicrafts.
Tin-plated tube: rust-resistant, used in food processing and packaging.
